LAPIDARY

The SMLS' technical adviser for lapidary - Derek Underdown, F.G.A. - is seen facetting a gemstone. Members of the Society have access to a fully equipped lapidary workshop, where they can, for example, cut rocks with diamond saws, polish sections and make cabochons, or identify gemstones.
